2014 Commencement Speakers

2014 Commencement Speakers May 7 So who will be the 2014 commencement speakers at colleges across the nation? Weve got some of that information for you. At Harvard University, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will address the graduating class. At Boston College, the speaker will be United States Secretary of State John Kerry. At Boston University, the speaker will be Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. At Emerson College, itll be alumnus Jay Leno (hes got some free time nowadays). At Yale University, the Class Day speaker will beJohn Kerry. Hey, our Secretary of State didnt claim he wouldnt be promiscuous in choosing to give multiple commencement speeches. At Dartmouth College, the speaker will be the proud daughter of Dartmouth Shonda Rhimes, creator of Greys Anatomy, Scandal, and Private Practice. For a school that has struggled of late with race and gender issues, choosing one of its most powerful alumna who happens to be an African American woman to address graduates was a wise decision by the College on the Hill. Pulitzer Prize winner Isabel Wilkerson will address the graduating class at Bates. Jacob Lew, the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury who recently learned to sign his name legibly, will address the graduates of Georgetown University. At Johns Hopkins, itll be the Chief Executive of YouTube,  Susan Wojcicki. At the University of Virginia, itll be the U.S. Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus. President Obama will address the graduates at West Point in addition to grads at the University of California, Irvine. Vice President Joe Biden will address grads at the University of South Carolina. Former President Clinton will address graduates at New York Universitys Abu Dhabi campuspretty cool, right? His former running mate, Vice President Al Gore will be the Class Day speaker at Princeton University. We certainly havent covered all of the 2015 commencement speakers but consider this a start.
